My festival

"Ganesha chathurthi" is one of my favorite festivals right from my childhood.

Not only because of the peculiar dishes my mom makes on that day also because of the funny and cute preparation and celebration that i make along with my dad.

Most of my off school time was spent at home rather than in care centers or internet cafe's like to-days kid's.I used to love to spend time going out with my parents and even my dad used to be free to spend unlike the present corporate dad's.

The day before Ganesha chathurthi was something exciting for me as we(me and my dad) used to start decorating the "palavelli".
I used to exhibit all my artistic skills in decorating it with color papers cut in different styles with my dad's help.
Everything was so funny right from preparing glue to pasting and decorating the room.

And on the day of festival, i used to wake up so early in a hurry to get ready fast and to put on my new dress.

While mom used to prepare all favorite(not Ganesha's my fav) dishes me and my dad used to start our pooja.praying with different holy leaves while my dad used to explain the meaning for each and every leaf.

Completing puja is followed by having a delicious lunch and watching the festival oriented movie in the television and chatting with my grand-pa as he explained me the story of Ganesha.

Evening we start our ride to visit the Ganesha idols all over my home-town.It was quite challenging for my number of visits to be max compared to my friends when we debate it next day in our school.

On a whole it was always lovely and much more sweeter after my sister's birth :)

Its not why i shared something that was special done only at my home, but it was always happy and memorable to celebrate anything with our family and that too the innocence of our childhood add's much beauty to it.

All this were My-thoughts the day before this Ganesha chathurthi that passed through me as these days i was away from this happiness.

Wishing to experience this again soon.
